Offender Accommodation Skills Training (OAST)
The Offender Accommodation Skills Training (OAST) programme was a well established programme offering high quality training on a range of topics. Unfortunately due to funding issues the programme is not running in its original form in 2011 -12, however we are able to offer alternative training so please contact sally.cherry@swm.probation.gsi.gov.uk for more information. We have left last year’s programme and brochure on the website so that you can get an idea of what we offer.

Our courses are suitable for anyone working with offenders and other clients about whom you might need specialist knowledge. Some are especially suitable for people working with offenders in residential settings and or floating support.
Workshops are offered from induction level through to more advanced training, including courses on working with offenders with special needs such as drug users, sex offenders etc.

We’ll create the right course for your staff
- In addition to offering open courses we can also deliver in-house events for you
- We can also facilitate ‘one off’ workshops and consultancy or organise special courses on your behalf.
- Before you send people away for that very important and expensive training course, check with us; we might be able to organise it nearer to home, and maybe sell places to a few other organisations to make it cheaper for you. If you want a particular trainer we might be able to contract that person to train on our behalf and make it more cost effective for your organisation.
