What we do
The Midlands Consortium is one of nine such Consortia across England and Wales which works to:
  • recruit and select trainee probation officers
  • manage the trainee probation officer training
  • support in-service training for all grades of probation staff, which includes NVQs.
  • manage all regional, and some national, tutor training for Accredited Offender Behaviour Programmes.

The Diploma in Probation Studies combines a university degree and NVQ level 4 in Community Justice Studies.

DMUIn 2008 we will deliver the Diploma in partnership with De Montfort University, Leicester and the nine probation areas.

Skills for Justice is the national body which awards the Diploma in Probation Studies.
