About Lincolnshire

Please note Lincolnshire Probation Area will not be recruiting any Trainee Probation Officers this year.

  • Lincolnshire is the largest county in the region when measured by physical size.  It is the least densely populated, having a population of around 650,000.

  • Lincoln is an impressive Cathedral City, occupying the site of the Roman town of Lindum Colonia.

  • We have probation staff placed in the three prisons in the area.

  • We also have Probation Officers seconded to Youth Offending Teams across the county.

  • The distance and travelling time involved in some teams have always to be taken into account in managing workload.

We have a large portfolio of programmes which include:

  • Enhanced Thinking Skills (ETS) general offending behaviour programme
  • Drink Impaired Drivers (DIDs)
  • Community Sex Offenders
  • Offender Substance Abuse programme (OSAP)
  • Controlling Anger and Learning to Manage It (CALM), a violence prevention programme
  • Cognitive Skills Booster programme
  • IDAP, a domestic abuse programme
