About Leicestershire and Rutland
  • With a total population of around 910,300, around 300,000 people live in the city of Leicester, which has a rich diversity of cultures
  • we employ approx. 550 staff, including 100 trained Probation Officers
  • our average caseload of offenders is around 4,000. Of these 20% are Black and Asian, and 11% are women. Prisoners and ex-prisoners make up about one third of the total caseload.
  • we have probation staff placed in the five prisons in the area, plus a team specialising in integrated drugs work.

  • Every year we hold a reception for representatives of minority ethnic communities in Leicestershire and Rutland. We also hold an event for people working with victims.
