The Midlands Consortium is committed to making our website as accessible as possible to users with disabilities, including users who may be blind or partially sighted.

The design of our website includes a number of accessibility features including:

• advice on browser accessibility options (this page)
• a common design throughout rather than providing text only pages for disabled users, and allowing text sizes and colours to be changed to suit the users needs
• ensuring that all images used in our site are given appropriate alternative text descriptions (‘ALT texts’).
• compatibility with most screen reading software.

This site uses PDF (Adobe Acrobat) file format for the publication of Home Office and local leaflets. Please note that Adobe Acrobat documents can be converted back to plain text using Adobe’s Web-based conversion service.

To view and print PDF files, you must have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed.

Changing the text size

This site has been designed so you can increase the size of its text to make it easier to read. How you do this depends on your browser but the ‘Text size’ feature is usually listed under ‘View’ in the program’s menubar. When ‘Text size’ is selected a submenu usually appears with a list of the different size options.

Access keys are keyboard shortcuts for accessing links and form fields on Web pages.

This site does not include access keys because there are potential conflicts with browser and assistive technology access keys which may confuse users.
